Louder, Lili by Gennifer Choldenko is a gem of a back to school book (available on the Scholastic teacher store website) for building classroom community, modeling being a good friend, standing up for what is right, and finding your own voice. These Louder Lili book activities include 20+ activities that are perfect for back to school. I’ve added a “Choose How You Use It” format for whole group, small groups, literacy centers or interactive notebooks.
Task cards for centers, teacher’s notes, (with pictures and explanation of the multiple ways the activities can be used) are included in the unit as well as an interactive notebook version for most of the activities.
The templates and chart parts you’ll need to create the above pictured anchor chart are also included. While this unit can be used at any time during the year, (it also ties in well to character building and peer kindness, as well as bullying prevention) my intention is to provide you with a variety of activities that, should you choose, you can use to introduce your routines and procedures for whole class activities, back to school writing, centers or interactive notebooking.
