These easy to make letter tiles are quite inexpensive and the metal pizza pan we use with them is from the dollar store.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Materials<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dollar store pizza pan<\/li>\n<li>Magnetic sheets 8 x 10 size<\/li>\n<li>Printable letter cards<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Directions<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Print the letter cards (grab the FREE set below) on <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3GwipQy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external noreferrer\" data-wplink-edit=\"true\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">colored copy paper<\/a>. You can also use cardstock but it\u2019s not necessary. The <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3vykc1c\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external noreferrer\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">magnetic sheets<\/a> that you\u2019ll adhere to the back of each page of letters gives them added thickness and durability.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-11118\" src=\"https:\/\/aroundthekampfire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/free-phonics-letter-card-manipulatives-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"Colorful phonics letter card printables\" width=\"446\" height=\"335\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>TIP:<\/strong> Using colored copy paper rather than cardstock makes the letter cards easier to cut out.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>Print the vowels and spelling patterns on an alternate color. I used these <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3vykc1c\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external noreferrer\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">magnetic sheets<\/a> from Amazon. Carefully line up the edges and lay the letter page onto the sticky side of the magnetic sheet and press firmly over the entire surface.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-11116\" src=\"https:\/\/aroundthekampfire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/diy-phonics-manipulatives-993x1024.jpg\" alt=\"DIY magnetic letter cards in phonics blends\" width=\"460\" height=\"475\"><\/p>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li>Cut out each letter card. By the time each student went through their bag and found the letters they needed, there wasn\u2019t much time left to use them. It used valuable small group time to allow students to do it themselves. Prepping the bags ahead of time myself and pulling the letters needed can also be fairly time consuming.<\/p>\n<p>To solve that problem simply store the alphabet letters on the pans and the phonics pattern cards in baggies.
